In Case of Fire Emergency

During a fire emergency, it's crucial to remain calm and follow these steps to ensure your safety:

Stay Calm: Keep a clear head and try to stay as calm as possible. Panic can impede your ability to respond effectively.

Activate the Nearest Fire Alarm: Pull the nearest fire alarm to alert others and the hotel staff about the fire. This will trigger the building's fire alarm system.

Close the Doors: If it is safe to do so and the fire is not in your immediate vicinity, close all doors that are present between you and the fire area. This can help you contain the fire and smoke.

Call for Help: Use your phone to dial the emergency number (usually 911 or the local emergency services number) or contact the front desk to report the fire. Provide them with all necessary information about your location and situation.

Evacuate: If it is safe to exit the building, leave immediately. Follow the designated escape routes and do not use elevators. Use stairwells and stay low if there is smoke.

Take Your Room Key Along: As you exit, take your room key with you. It could be helpful for reentry and the identification of our guests.

Dealing with Smoke in Your Room During a Fire Emergency

If you find yourself in a room filled with smoke during a fire emergency, it's crucial to take the following steps to maximize your safety:

Protect Your Breathing: Fold a wet towel into a triangle and tie it securely over your nose and mouth. This makeshift mask will help filter out some of the smoke and provide you with cleaner air to breathe.

Crawl to the Door: To avoid inhaling too much smoke, get down on your hands and knees (or stomach) and crawl towards the door. Smoke rises, so staying low will allow you to breathe more easily.

Check the Doorknob: Before attempting to open the door, feel the doorknob with the back of your hand. If the doorknob is hot to the touch, do not open it. This likely indicates that there is a fire on the other side. Instead, seal any gaps around the door with a wet towel or clothing to prevent smoke from entering your room as you wait for help.

Open the Door Slowly: If the doorknob is cool, open the door slowly and cautiously. Be prepared to close it immediately if you encounter a wall of smoke or heat.

Take Your Room Key: As you exit your room, don't forget to take your room key with you. This can be useful for reentry and can act as a signal to emergency responders that your room has been checked.

Navigation through the Hallway: If the hallway is filled with smoke, stay close to the wall and count the doors as you crawl toward the nearest exit staircase. This will help you maintain your orientation and locate the staircase.

Use the Exit Staircase: Once you reach the exit staircase, walk down calmly. Avoid using elevators during a fire emergency.

Stay Safe: If, at any point, the exit staircase begins to fill with smoke or becomes impassable, return to your room, seal any gaps around the door, and await rescue. Use your phone to call for help and inform us of your location.

Enhancing Security Procedures

To enhance your security during your stay, please adhere to the following security procedures:

Double Locks and Latches: Take advantage of the deadbolt lock provided on your door. This extra lock prevents the door from being opened using a regular room key. Additionally, ensure to engage the safety latch for added security.

Admittance Precautions: Exercise caution while allowing strangers to access your room. We insist that you make proper identification before admitting anyone. If there is any doubt about the person's identity or purpose, please contact the front desk for verification.

Travel Tips

Here are some handy travel tips to make your journey more convenient:

Ziplock Bags: Consider packing Ziplock bags in your luggage. They serve multiple purposes, such as containing liquids, providing storage for damp or wet clothing (like bathing suits), and preventing clothes from shifting or wrinkling due to the air pockets.

Dry Cleaner Clothing Bags: Make use of large clothing bags from the dry cleaners to separate and organize your clothing items effectively. This can help you to keep your clothes neat and orderly during your travels.

Lost and Found Procedures

If you have lost or misplaced an item during your stay, please follow these procedures:

. Dial "0": Contact the hotel operator by dialing "0" on your room phone. They will assist you to check if your lost item has been found by our other guests or staff.

. If Unavailable, Call the Fire Department (911): If you are unable to reach the hotel operator or if the situation is urgent, dial - "911" for assistance.

Safety Measures During a Fire Emergency

In the event of a fire emergency, please take the following safety measures:

Turn Off the Air Conditioner: Shut off the air conditioner in your room. This prevents smoke from being drawn into your room.

Seal Doors and Vents: Wedge a wet cloth under the door and around doors and vents to help block smoke from entering your room.

Remove Drapes: Remove any drapes or curtains from windows to prevent them from catching fire.

Signal Your Location:Check outside your window for smoke. If there is no smoke and if is safe to do so, hang a sheet of light-colored material outside the window. This signals your location to firefighters, indicating that the room is still occupied. Keep a portion of the sheet inside the window and keep it wet with water.

Prepare for Firefighting:Fill the bathtub or sink with cold water for firefighting purposes. Use an ice bucket or any available container to keep water nearby. This will enable you to quickly moisten any cloth or clothing to protect yourself from smoke.

Do Not Break Windows or Jump: Avoid breaking windows or attempting to jump from your room. These actions can be extremely dangerous and can result in adverse consequences.

Stay Low:Remain close to the floor where the air is typically cleaner during a fire. Continue implementing firefighting measures until help arrives.

Additional Travel Tips

Here are some additional travel tips to enhance your stay:

. Sweatsuit or Jogging Suit: When luggage space is limited, consider packing a sweatsuit or jogging suit instead of a bathrobe. This versatile clothing item can serve for comfortable lounging in your room and for quick trips to the hallway for ice or other needs.

. Close the Bathroom Door:To minimize noise disturbance in the morning or at other times, remember to close the bathroom door in your hotel room. This can help dampen sounds, as noise travels through the air and plumbing systems.

. Safety Precaution:If you ever feel that someone is following you, take immediate action. Step up to the nearest door, knock, and announce that you have forgotten your key. If someone answers the door, explain the situation. If no one answers, this action can still serve the purpose of confusing and alerting any potential follower.

. Your safety, comfort, and well-being are our top priorities, and we appreciate your cooperation in adhering to safety measures and following the above tips.
